Privacy notice

This explains what we do with your personal information, in plain English. Our courses are for 16 to 21 year olds, so we have tried to keep it readable.

Who is responsible for your data

Emplify Ltd, of 66 Paul Street, London EC2A 4NA, trading as Emplify, is the data controller. Contact us about anything in this notice at info@emplifycareers.com.

What we collect, and why

If you fill in our enquiry form

Your name, email address, the track you are interested in, and the fact that you ticked the consent box. We use this to reply to you, to send you the free first module, and to send you occasional updates about Emplify. Our lawful basis is your consent.

If you buy a track

Your name, email address, what you bought, when, and how much you paid. We use this to deliver your files, to provide support, and to keep our accounting records. Our lawful basis is performance of our contract with you, and our legal obligation to keep financial records.

We do not see or store your card details. Stripe handles the payment and holds that information under its own privacy policy.

When you visit the site

We do not use analytics or advertising cookies on this site. Our fonts load from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google's servers to fetch them, and Google can see your IP address when it does.

Who we share it with

Only the companies that help us run Emplify, and only what they need:

• Stripe, to take payments.
• Netlify, which hosts this website.
• Skool, which hosts our courses and community, and holds your name, email and course progress.
• Zapier, which passes your email address from Stripe to Skool so your course unlocks automatically.
• WhatsApp, if you choose to follow our channel. It is a broadcast channel, so we cannot see your number and other followers cannot either. Following it is covered by WhatsApp's own privacy policy.
• Google Workspace, which we use to email you.

Some of these are based outside the UK, including in the United States. Where that happens, transfers are protected by the safeguards UK data protection law requires, such as the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

We never sell your data, and we never pass it to employers, recruiters, schools, or advertisers.

How long we keep it

• Enquiries where you do not buy: two years from your last contact with us, then deleted.
• Purchase and accounting records: six years, which is how long UK tax law requires.
• Marketing emails: until you unsubscribe, which you can do from any email we send.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

• show you what we hold about you;
• correct anything that is wrong;
• delete your data, where we do not have to keep it;
• stop using it for marketing, at any time;
• send you a copy in a portable format; or
• restrict or object to how we use it.

Withdrawing consent to marketing does not affect emails we must send you about something you bought, such as your files or a receipt.

If you are under 18

You can use this site and ask us questions. If you are under 13, please ask a parent or guardian before giving us your email address.

If you are a parent or guardian and want us to delete information about your child, email us and we will do it.

Keeping it safe

The site is served over HTTPS. Payment data never touches our systems. We limit who can see your information to the people who need it to run Emplify.

Complaints

If you think we have handled your data badly, tell us first and we will try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
